Hydrogen: energy of the future for communities

Hydrogen presents an exciting opportunity for communities in Alberta and around the world—providing the energy we need, with none of the emissions. ATCO is moving forward with Alberta’s first hydrogen blending project in Fort Saskatchewan, which will be the largest project of its kind in Canada upon completion.

Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) is coming to our service area! As our service area grows and the demand for electricity increases, we are upgrading our meter technology to serve you better. The AMI implementation program will be phased in by region in Alberta, starting with Fort Chipewyan, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray and Lloydminster.

Making a difference in our communities

Our ATCO EPIC program is a grassroots, employee-led initiative that puts communities first. Through fundraising and volunteering, we support more than 800 charitable and non-profit organizations around the world, in all the places we live and work. In 2021, our people raised $2.97 million bringing the total program contributions since 2006 to nearly $50 million!

Team Canada in the Invictus Games 2022

ATCO is proud to be the Presenting Sponsor for Team Canada in the Invictus Games 2022. ATCO has proudly supported our brave men and women in uniform for decades. From providing military camps, defense support services, military logistics and operational support, to developing innovative housing projects for veterans struggling with reintegrating into civilian life, ATCO has an enduring commitment to celebrate and honour the heroes that serve our country. It is a tremendous privilege to continue to support our military forces today through this partnership with the Invictus Games 2022 and the incredible athletes of Team Canada as they head to The Hague, Netherlands and compete with approximately 500 participants from other nations.
